So overall success considering I only spent $100 on new gaskets and parts. However, there is still oil coming from the top rear of the motor, only now it's very localized to the driver's side-most piston area. It looks like it may be coming from the exhaust header gasket on that piston, so I'm thinking I may do a similar remove/clean/reinstall
Q7 MK 1 Discussion - Oil Extractor effective? - Got an Ecstuning 10 liter oil extractor. I was looking around on the internet and I found several forums where people say no to use extractor on Q7 3.0 TDI because of some baffle that prevents the tube from hitting bottom of the oil pan.
Small oil leak, big problem. My 2013 Q7 TDI 63K miles had developed a small oil leak, a few spots in the driveway and recently consumed a quart in 8000 miles. Dropped it off today for the emissions mod and also had them look at the leak. Engine needs to be removed and "resealed." All covered by fix warranty and SA said it was quite common.
